Continuing our series of articles connecting you to the faces behind the people of Genesis Equipment, today we would like to introduce to you our Logistics and Warehouse Manager, Mackenzie Blake.
Mackenzie has been with Genesis for just over a year now, and has been instrumental in integrating a new WMS system. She has also initiated huge changes that drive the efficiency of our new, bigger and better warehouse.
We asked Mackenzie a few questions to learn more about her.
The atmosphere and passion of our entire team. We all get excited when it comes to new challenges or ideas, and we all have each other’s backs when push comes to shove. The amount of trust management has in their employees is phenomenal, and the support to help each other grow really makes this business stand above the rest.
Hitting the warehouse early, catching up on my emails, chasing up freight, then proceeding to smash out orders.
Freight providers….. especially since covid, the confidence I have in them getting our stock from A to B has significantly dropped. This causes a headache for pretty well everyone involved in each sale, as it takes so much time to chase up any issues once it leaves our warehouse.
“Are we living? Or merely killing time?” – I am Giant (Kiwi band), this lyric has always stuck with me, and I try to live by it as much as possible by camping, travel (pre Covid) and doing the things I love. It’s all about a work – life balance.
Our new 5 Tonne forklift manual…. Riveting.
Outside of work –Spending time with friends and family, board games, adventures, food, dad jokes, my cats, camping, fishing, music, the list goes on and on.
Within work – seeing any new process I’ve implement in action, and the impact it’s had on the efficiency of our warehouse. Especially when it benefits everyone and not just the warehouse.
The Killers, closely followed by the Foo Fighters, Paramore, music festivals and many more. I used to be a bit of a concert junky.
An Entomologist, yes, my weird mini me wanted to study bugs.
Chicken feet, love them! Yum Cha anyone?
– Laughter is one of my main languages.
