Wheel Balancer DST30P by Ranger

SKU: 5140154

The Ranger DST30P is a workshop wheel balancer built around one idea: get the weight right the first time, without paying for automation you won’t use.

Where premium balancers automate every measurement, the DST30P puts a 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder — the same sensing hardware Ranger fits to its larger DST-64T — into a narrow-chassis cabinet a small bay can actually spare the floor for. The result is finer weight placement with less weight used, at a price an independent shop can justify against a single balancing bay’s throughput.

Dynamic, static and alloy modes are standard, with dual-plane calibration. A 40 mm shaft, three centring cones and a truck cone as standard cover most passenger, SUV and light-truck wheels straight out of the crate. Wheel data is entered manually via the distance arm and calipers — a few seconds of operator input per wheel, and no auto-arm to knock out of calibration.

The DST30P ships without a plug fitted and with the voltage selector set to 220 V from the factory, which suits Australian single-phase supply at 50 Hz. A licensed electrician must fit an appropriate plug or hard-wire the unit to the workshop’s supply, on a dedicated circuit breaker, correctly earthed. The balancer must also be anchored to a flat concrete floor — it will not read accurately if it can move. Genesis can advise on install requirements before delivery.

  • 64-tooth encoder, minimal weight placement — precision-cut square teeth convert rotary position to a digital signal, so top-dead-centre positioning is exact and less correction weight is needed per wheel.
  • Multi-directional quartz piezoelectric load sensors — dual-component quartz sensors read longitudinal, transversal and shear forces, so imbalance is detected in all three directions from a single spin.
  • Direct-Axis belt drive — one belt connects the motor and the unbalance sensor. Fewer moving parts, and very little to service across the machine’s life.
  • Full-tilt display tower — the control panel is raised and fully adjustable, which kills screen glare and lets operators of different heights work comfortably.
  • Five balancing modes — Dynamic for steel wheels, STA1 and STA2 for motorcycle and narrow wheels, ALU1 and ALU2 for alloys where adhesive weights sit behind the spokes.
  • 40 mm shaft and cone set — three hardened-steel centring cones (44–70 mm, 70–89 mm, 89–108 mm) plus a heavy-duty truck cone (114–127 mm) as standard. The optional double-sided Truck Cone Kit covers hubs from 121 mm to 171 mm.
  • Built-in weight storage and tape feeder — high-volume top tray, side storage rack and an open-top side shelf that takes bulk rolls of Ranger adhesive tape weight.
  • Self-calibration and verification built in — a dual-plane self-calibration routine and a weight-location verification test run on-machine with the supplied 100 g calibration weight. No service call to confirm accuracy.

Product Uses

Use the DST30P in:

  • Independent workshops adding a balancing bay — the strongest fit. Precision comparable to far dearer machines, without the automation premium.
  • Tyre bays running steady passenger and light-truck volume — the truck cone is standard, so 4WD and light-commercial wheels don’t need an accessory purchase.
  • Performance and 4WD specialists — ALU modes and fine weight resolution suit large-diameter alloys where visible clip-on weights aren’t acceptable.
  • Dealership second bays and overflow — a compact, narrow-chassis unit for a bay that can’t give up the floor space a full-feature balancer needs.

Not the right machine for: fully automated, laser-guided data entry, or heavy truck wheels. Point those enquiries at the Beissbarth G-series and the Ranger R26FLT respectively.
